How it works
Despite its apparent complexity, the UL concept is really quite straightforward.
- Your deposits – minus provincial premium tax-go into an investment fund
- You select the investment mix from among a variety of Investment Account, according to your own personal risk /reward preferences
- Both the monthly cost of insurance and the cost of administering the plan are deducted from the account
- Funds accumulated within the plan can be used to generate an income or secure a policy Ioan.
